An Introduction to Contemporary Art

Critic and Gallerist Nick Hackworth discusses the "point" of contemporary art, and helps to debunk its sometimes baffling artistic and monetary value to the layperson

About the speaker...
Gallerist Nick Hackworth founded Paradise Row in 2006. The “super cool gallery” (The Indpendent, 24.9.10) exhibits and supports the work of a group of closely aligned London based artists. In his previous life, Nick was the contemporary art critic at the Evening Standard working at the publication alongside legendary critic Brian Sewell

About Animus Talks
Animus is still in its infancy, launching earlier in 2011. It endeavours to organise talks on a broad spectrum of cultural subjects ranging from art to history to philosophy to religion to science. Each talk is a one off, and offers an opportunity to hear an expert in their field over a glass of wine, with no requirement to commit to a course or a term
