An assessment of the meanings of typical Dutch objects in seventeenth-century landscape paintings.
By looking at typically Dutch symbols included in landscape paintings exhibited at the Queen's Gallery this lecture will assess the inherent meanings of these objects, questioning whether they represent something more than simplyan appealing view of towns, sea or countryside.
