Thank-you

I just want to thank you for your incredible strength and the depth of the beauty of your soul. I have just finished reading In Search Of Fatima to increase my awareness of my Palestinian partner's background and throughout the book l have had such a desire to reach out to you & thank-you for your existence & courage.
I was born in England & currently live in Australia so l have a self inflicted form of belonging nowhere really now. My partner however was born in a refugee camp in Lebanon & is at present seeking residency here in Australia, having been locked up in detention for 2 years ! I am so grateful for my beautiful life here and yet so uncomfortable with the double standards that are manifest on this planet right now. I am also deeply ashamed of my current Govt. & that of my country of origin for their behaviour on the world stage & l have never been able to understand why ordinary people can't see your situation clearly for what it is. It struck me in parts of your book how similar the Aboriginal experience is here , in the sense of blaming the victim & wanting to simply bury it all in the past without any true reconciliation.
Once again l simply want to extend my deepest & warmest heartfelt thanks to you for sharing the story of your life. One Love & Respect, Deborah Ray.
