Celebrating Chemistry - past, present and future

Professor David Phillips will be examining how chemistry has helped us to understand our world and where new knowledge is leading us

David Phillips, President of the Royal Society of Chemistry, is a great exponent of the popularisation and understanding of chemistry and gives many popular science lectures. Chemistry is the great enabling subject that is central to progress in solving global problems. In today’s world, these problems are as vital as new energy sources, food, clean water, and healthcare. David Phillips presents an overview of current research in these areas as well as his own work in the field of targeted photodynamic therapy of cancer.
