Lord Christopher Patten of Barnes gives this lecture on Modern China at St Martin-in-the-Fields.
Our Autumn Education Series 2013 seeks to examine what it means to have faith when one's faith is on a particular frontier, challenged by and challenging the prevailing culture. What does it mean to have faith in those places where we are no longer sure of the answers? Faith on the Frontiers will explore these new realities as opportunities to respond to the world with a new integrity and a new authenticity.
Chris Patten is chairman of the BBC Trust and Chancellor of the University of Oxford. He was the last British governor of Hong Kong and oversaw its handover to China in 1997. The Tablet named him on of Britain's most influential Roman Catholics.
