An evening with investigative journalist Andrew Jennings

Andrew Jennings is well known for his investigations into FIFA and the International Olympic Committee.

Andrew Jennings is well known for his investigations into FIFA and the International Olympic Committee. Last June he presented the BBC Panorama programme – The Beautiful Bung: Corruption and The World Cup focusing on allegations of bribes for contracts among the FIFA’s highest officials. He is the author of Foul: The Secret World of FIFA: Bribes, Vote-ragging and Ticket Scandals and has been declared persona non-grata by FIFA since 2003.

After publishing his book about corruption at the International Olympic Committee - The Lords of the Rings - in 1992, Jennings was awarded a five-day suspended jail sentence for ‘telling lies’. The IOC excluded him from press conferences for six years until the Salt Lake cash and sex for votes scandal broke in 1998. He still has a criminal record.

Jennings worked as a reporter specialising in international organised crime for 36 years. He now focuses on institutional corruption at FIFA and the IOC.

The event is organised in association with Centre for Investigative Journalism.
